I was fascinated by illusion knitting when I saw a pattern for a scarf in Son of Stitch n Bitch. Jon's son is a closet communist so I thought I'd try hiding a hammer and sickle in a scarf for him. It's hard to tell if the pattern will work until it's just about done. I hate surprises and wanted desperately to know if I was going to have to start over. I furiously knit all 240 rows and was pleasantly surprised.

Now I have the boring bit of knitting another 4 feet of just stripes. I think its going to need a star on the other end so I don't go batty with boredom.
